An approach, so successful, that it was adopted by NHS England and is the winner of a prestigious Kate Granger award for compassionate care.
With Rhian as their expert advisor, the HIU programme was rolled out across England with inspiring results.
Currently, over 90% of the country have an HIU service supporting A&Es to better serve people attending them more than, or differently than, expected.
With Rhian’s proven approach at its heart, the NHS have made the High Intensity Use programme a core objective in NHS England’s Urgent and Emergency Recovery Plan and Multi-year Planning Guidance with results across England.
